是的，
是我听见了她的最后
一句话语。

这是你的纪念册
你要我题上一个人的名字
当然是一个伟大的灵魂
（那么请让我说明一下
因为这个陌生的名字
对你很遥远
对我却不平常
因为我至死也不能忘记）
她曾经
是一个少女
就在她换裙的那个黄昏*
她悄悄地哭了
不知为什么
总之她是哭了
那年她十五岁
她嫁人了

是骑着一匹白马走的
山那边一个牧羊汉追来了
送了她一条头巾
听人说
她年轻时很风流
听人说
她年轻时很漂亮
更多的人说
她是一个最善良的姑娘
接着她当了母亲
生了一群孩子
可丈夫却是个醉鬼
那年她三十五岁
她常常爱大笑，那笑声很真挚
有一个女人难产
她去为她壮胆，可那女人还是死了
就在那一年冬天
她抱着一个拾来的孩子
在门前折断了右腿
那时她五十岁
后来她真的老了
常常在火塘边
为孩子们讲故事

有一年的夏天
那是一个长长的夏天
她正讲着讲着
就如梦的死去
只有那个睡在她怀里的孩子
才听清了最后的话语
这是一个星光灿烂的夜晚
那一天她刚好七十岁
她的名字：
吉克金斯嫫
她的最后一句话：
孩子，要热爱人

* 换裙：彝族少女到了一定年龄，就要举行换裙仪式，从那一天以后表明，少女已经到了成熟年龄。
* 彝族妇女常用名。

  An Inscription on an Autograph Book  

Well
It is I who had heard
her last words before her death.

This is an autograph book for you
I will write someone’s name in it
Of course, this is a great soul
(Well. Let me make an explanatory
because this name is unfamiliar to you
and very far from you too
Yet it is not ordinary to me
and I will never forget it till my death )
She was
    a young girl
Just at the dusk for exchanging skirts *
she wept silently
No one knew why
But she kept weeping indeed
That year she was fifteen
     she married

A young shepherd caught her
She left her home on a white horse
and gave her a scarf as a memento
Someone said
    she was very lose when she was young
Someone said
     she was a beauty when she was young
More of the villagers said
she was a kind-hearted girl
Yet she became a mother
of a group of children
Her husband was a sot
That year she was thirty-five
She was fond of laughing, appearing truly and wholeheartedly
One winter day
a woman suffered from difficult labor
She went to help her .Yet the woman died at last
    So she carried a new-born baby back
Unfortunately, she had a fall and broke her leg
    She was fifty years old then
Later she turned aged
    She often told stories to children
by the fire pit

One summer day
    a long summer day
As she told stories
    she died suddenly like in a dream
Only the baby in her arms
     heard what she had said before her death
That was a starlit night
     that day was her birthday of seventy 
Her name is :
    Jike Jinsimo*
Her last words left for the world :
    My child, do love others

* Exchanging skirts ------ an old custom of Yi nationality. When a Yi girl is to a fixed age, she has to exchange skirts with another girl. It shows that from that day the young girl has been to the age of a grown-up.
    * Jike Jinsimo ----- a name in common use by the Yi women .
