The Last Call
Unfortunately, his chest was pierced through by the last concealed arrow he set .
---- the preface
To win the uppermost honor from his ancestry
almost every dawn and dusk he went to the mountain to catch leopards
When the soul talked with the forest, he set up many concealed arrows
(Those mountain villagers say ----
when he was young
his name married to the wind
spreading to the remote place
because he had caught
many leopards )
He was a silent one, the stories of gangers he had gone through
were written everywhere in his forehead
Only when the highland was astir with jubilant crowds
did he sing a folk song, in a low baritone ,with deep feelings
His singing voice was stronger and brighter than the rocks at dusk
deeply touching a lot of women’s hearts, rippling and waving
On his head was the shadow of the mountains in remote antiquity
His brown chest was a vast plain full of wild nature and love
just for these women to freely seed and harvest their youthful faiths
(Those mountain villagers say -----
he was old then
but insisted on
setting concealed arrows for the last time
to shoot a leopard
Those mountain villagers say -------
It was at dusk that day
that he went to the mountain all alone
crooning all his way
However, from that dusk
he had never come back
Later someone found
he died in the spot where he set concealed arrows
His chest was pierced through
by a concealed arrow )
He fell down like a sleeping plain under the starlight .His eyes opened round
as if he wanted to let the Milky Way flow out some words that wasn’t to be decoded
Let the news of his death stand on the mountaintop like a tree
Let the women who once loved him dwell in the tree like sunbirds
A story of a man will spread in the mountains
although fate sometimes dresses life with a cruel jacket
(Those mountain villagers say -------
he indeed died
and many years later
a women’s corpse
was cremated
in the spot where he died )
